It is a challenge, RB, to discern what needs to change. However, I believe you would agree it is incumbent upon Jesus followers to do whatever necessary to reach others with God's love and grace. Plus, there are many things that we can focus on that are not as difficult to discern. If many churches would just do that, it would be progress. Adapting the worship style is one. Adapting how we reach out is another. The whole idea of a backpack program for hungry kids is relatively new, but many churches are involved in this type of outreach. There are many things like these two examples that could keep our churches busy until Jesus returns.

You may not think you are a leader, but it sounds to me that you are. Also, don't think that you are too old for young adult ministry. The millennial generation really values the wisdom of their elders. An intergenerational small group may be very attractive to young adults.

Sounds like new wine to me. Something worth trying, to be sure. My next blog post will be about how to take smaller steps, then make adjustments, to bring effective change.

Seems to me that God can't mold, shape, and fill us when we are inflexible. Our unwillingness to adapt prevents God from working in and through us to love and serve those who need it most.
